About Mallory Distler

Mallory started riding at the age of 8 in her hometown of Greenwood, Indiana at a nearby barn called Dan-Hobyn Stables. She participated in Pony Club from age 8 until she went to college at Purdue University. She attended rallies, clinics, ratings and credits Pony Club and long days at the barn to much of her knowledge and experience with horses. After graduating college, Mallory worked for the Indiana Horse Racing Commission for 3 years working as the Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse Breed Development Coordinator. She quit when she realized working with horses full time is what she was meant to be doing.

Mallory started her horse career at the barn she grew up, Dan-Hobyn Stables, with one of her longest friends, Jamie Stevenson, mainly doing chores and teaching. A year into the career change her Purdue college roommate, Jessica Snyder, called her about her plans to build a farm in Berlin, Maryland and offered her a job. A few months later, in August of 2013, she moved to Berlin, MD to start her new adventure. In the spring of 2014 Bay Point Equestrian Center opened!

Moving to the Eastern Shore was the best move Mallory could have made. She met up with great trainers and people that have accelerated her career. Mallory’s goals include riding at the highest level of eventing, riding internationally, and she would love to ride for the US Team.
